Join Me For National AccessAbility Awareness Week 2025

This month, between May 25-31, Windsor Hackforge is hosting a series of free events focused on accessibility. The programming aims to increase connections between people with disabilities, businesses, technologists, advocacy groups, and the community at large. Windsor Hackforge National AccessAbility Awareness Week 2025

I will be speaking on Monday, May 26th, 6PM/ET, about Practical Business Accessibility strategies in helping A City In Transition to overcome the leadership dilemma. Windsor is a city with immense potential — yet it continues to face deep-rooted challenges, including the highest unemployment rate among major Canadian cities and persistently high poverty rates that disproportionately affect people with disabilities, racialized communities, and children.

As part of National AccessAbility Awareness Week, Forward Together invites changemakers to reimagine Windsor’s future through the lens of accountability, transparency, and responsiveness.

This event explores the systemic barriers that limit community engagement and economic participation, and offers bold, practical strategies to transition from symbolic inclusion to true belonging, dignity, and justice. This free, one-hour session will examine the global and local forces shaping Windsor’s path forward, and offer innovative approaches that will empower every citizen to thrive.
